The Sweet Spot: May Your Cup be Full – 2014/15

This was created with a commission through the Office of Art and Culture for the Winterfest Celebration at the Seattle Center during the end of 2014 and into the beginning of 2015. This interactive installation invited passersby to sit in the giant cup optical illusion with friends and family and bask in the fullness of life during the holiday season.

For Winterfest we built a large-scale painted plywood greeting card that provided opportunities for Winterfest guests to position themselves inside and take photographs with family and friends. The greeting card measured approximately 8’ tall x 11’ wide with pop-out elements that extended from the face of the card approximately 3’. The card opened to function as a backdrop for the pop-out elements. These were a giant faucet above a giant teacup and saucer. The opposite face of the card included the greeting, viagra hospital “May Your Cup Be Full.” Visiting the installation several times during Winterfest, website like this we were delighted with activity and feedback from guests at The Seattle Center. We heard on more than one occasion that people waited in line to take photos with family and friends.
